Novices’ Visit

Last December 30, 2020, our holy novices headed by Fr. Philip Lazatin and Fr. Jomar Bacucang paid a short visit to Don Bosco Balamban. Once they arrived at 8:30 am, they had mass with Lauds and then after mass, they shared with us their “binalot” (rice with toppings of meat and vegetables wrapped in banana leaves – Mynamar style). It was so delicious – missed it too.

Before they left they shared with us some blessings from their selling of “atsara” or pickled papaya during the simbang gabi in Lawaan.

Thank you and till next year another visit to a Don Bosco in the periphery – we appreciate so much the visit.

It was agreed that the training be done inside Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban due to Covid concerns and health protocols.

Fr. Brian Butanas will get in-contact with the Parish Priest and the Barangay Captain to start the recruitment of students for Batch 46.

Courtesy Visit to Councilor Hontiveros

The Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban BOT representatives (Fr. Brian Butanas, Dr. Eugene Ynclino IV and Fr. Lan Guiao) visited the Office of Councilor Donaldo Hontiveros last December 1, 2021 to discuss the possibility of conducting SMAW NCII Mobile Training to the poor youth of the Mountain Barangays of Cebu City between the boundaries of the City and Balamban.

This is our belief and challenge to go to the peripheries to answer the challenge of Pope Francis to get out of ourselves and find the poor, the lost and the abandoned in the peripheries.
