Zenfinity

Sir Anthony Adollada and his trainees delivered electrical services to ZENFINITY Body Massage Spa in Balamban, Cebu, installing and commissioning systems for a safe and comfortable environment. Their work included setting up lighting, power outlets, and specialized equipment, supporting the spa’s operations. This project showcased their expertise, enabling the spa to focus on providing exceptional service to its clients.

ADSB Trade Test

Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban (DBTVETCB) hosted a two-day activity on April 27-28, 2024, featuring an interview and trade test for representatives from Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) and LBS Agency. The event aimed to provide job opportunities for students and alumni of the technical vocational education and training (TVET) center.

During the 2 day activity, ADSB and LBS Agency representatives conducted interviews with interested candidates from DBTVETCB. The interviews assessed the students’ skills, knowledge, and suitability for the available positions within the companies. Then they focused on the trade test, where candidates demonstrated their practical skills and abilities relevant to the job requirements. The trade test allowed the companies to evaluate the students’ competencies and ensure they meet the industry standards.

DBTVETCB, located in Prenza, Balamban, Cebu, has been providing quality technical education to underprivileged youth since 1998. The center offers qualifications in Basic Gas Metal Arc Welding, Basic Flux Cored Arc Welding, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, among other courses.

By hosting this two-day activity, DBTVETCB aims to connect its students and alumni with potential employers, facilitating their transition from education to gainful employment. The event highlights the center’s commitment to developing highly qualified and globally competitive individuals who can contribute to the local and national workforce.

Don Bosco TVET Balamban receives the re-issuance of the Certificate of TVET Program Registration (CTPR) with the integration of the 21st Century Skills in each qualification, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NCII, Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) NCII, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) NCII, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCI, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCII. This has a validity period of 5 years.

Mobile Training Scholarships II

Mr. Jeson and Ms. Charm had a coordination meeting with Mam Judy of the Scholarship Program of Cebu City under the Office of Councilor Dondon Hontiveros. Ms. Charm is the scholarship focal of Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban. The scholarship is part of the Mobile Training for the Youth of the Mountain Barangays of Cebu City of which Don Bosco Balamban is the training provider.

Don Bosco Big Bike Riders’ Don Bosco Day Visit

The Don Bosco Alumni Big Bike Riders led by Mr. Neil Montesclaros entered our premises for one of the 3 Don Bosco settings that they planned to visit on the feast of St. John Bosco. (January 31, 2021)

Fr. Brian welcomed the Big Bike Riders group in the Chapel and gave them an orientation of our work here in Don Bosco Balamban and then gave them the blessing of Don Bosco.

Thank you for your very Bosconian visit and the very substantial blessings that you have shared with us here in DB Balamban. God bless you always and we know that Don Bosco was smiling in heaven on his feast day.

ANCOP and DB Virtual MOA Signing

Last January 15, 2021, a MOA signing took place virtually between CFC ANCOP Global Foundation Inc represented by Bro. Rudy Gaspillo and Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban represented by Fr. Brian Butanas SDB for the use of the Mobile Training Van for the poor of the peripheries of Region VII.

This is truly a response to the call of Pope Francis to go out and seek the poor in the peripheries.

The Mobile Training Van (MTV) of CFC ANCOP Global Foundation is a fruit of the blessings shared by the Couple for Christ Household in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Mobile Training Scholarships I

Last December 28, 2020, the Cebu CIty approved the proposal of Don Bosco to conduct Mobile Training for the poor youth of Cebu City.

Then last January 14, 2021 a follow-up meeting with Councilor Dondon Hontiveros and Mam Judy was made by Fr. Brian Butanas with BOT Member Dr. Eugene Ynclino IV. It was agreed that the first roll-out of the Mobile Training will be for the poor youth of Barangay Tabunan which is a mountain barangay of Cebu CIty just by the boundary with Balamban. It was agreed that the training be done inside Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban due to Covid concerns and health protocols.

Fr. Brian Butanas will get in-contact with the Parish Priest and the Barangay Captain to start the recruitment of students for Batch 46.
