With the roofing done, Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban will source out funds from the “Trade Tests” and knock on the generous hearts of friends and benefactors of Don Bosco Balamban for the flooring and walls of the fabrication/production area of the welding shop and most probably Batch 49 will finish the flooring and the walls of the IP.

FELCO had a second round of zoom meetings with the EIM Team of Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban for the proposed partnership in the rolling out of the newly registered Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II. FELCO representatives presented their company profile and the mode of partnership with Don Bosco. We are very happy that 95% of our proposals were part of the presentation. The next step will be the drafting of the MOA, presentation, approval and signing.
Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban welcomed representatives from Don Bosco Mondo Germany: Mr. Sebastian and Mr. Steffen. Mr. Sebastian has been a familiar face since he has been journeying with us for the past years in Don Bosco One TVET Philippines Project. Fr. Brian Butanas presented a report of the TVET Center’s continuing learning initiatives to conduct face to face learning in the midst of the pandemic.
After the presentation Fr. Brian brought the Mondo representatives to a nearby Bamboo Nursery Partner, after which the students presented a dance number and the visit ended with a very delicious lunch.
Batch 48 had the honor again to do some repairs to the Student’s Kitchen Extension. This was damaged during Odette when a nearby Acacia Tree fell and did damage to a part of the roof of our gymnasium and the kitchen shed.
We thank our Construction Site Supervisor Mr. William Lima. He volunteered in our center while waiting for his employment abroad. Before the pandemic he was working in construction sites in Brunei. Hopefully, he will gain employment in New Zealand once it opens it’s borders.
Technical Drafting is a universal language for people working in a construction site from the architects, engineers, construction site supervisors down to the skilled worker. Mr. Dominic Magdato is preparing B48 by teaching the foundations of drawing and reading of technical drawings.
The first group of Batch 48 students are under-going Dual Training at EZYBuild Construction Company for their Basic and Common Competencies.
