Fr. Brian, Sir William and their team of Batch 45 Bosconians started the rehabilitation of the Chapel at Mt. Manunggal after weeks of waiting for good weather. Mt. Manunggal entered the Philippine scene after President Magsaysay’s plane, a Douglas C-47 plane named Mt. Pinatubo, crashed on the slopes of Mount Manunggal, Cebu.
The Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban Bosconians were commissioned to rehabilitate the roofing of chapel by the group of Dr. Ily Abella of Seraphio.Ph. This is a good venue for our Batch 45 Trainees to hone their skills in SMAW NCII in actual work environment.
Batch 46 under-went the Bosconian Induction Program designed to develop one’s personality, leadership and team work.
The program aims to develop one’s self-esteem, resolve trust issues, enable the trainee to work and participate in a group and to develop problem solving skills.
Councilor Dondon Hontiveros gave an inspirational talk to the first batch of Cebu City Scholars from Barangay Tabunan. He explained and distributed DH shirts which is a monicker for Dondon Hontiveros but also stands for the values of Discipline + Hard Work and for Dedication + Humility.
The first batch of Cebu City Scholars will have 6 weeks of intensive training in SMAW NC II in preparation for their eventual gainful employment in our partner companies.
This Scholarship Program Partnership with Cebu City through our Mobile Training Program is also an answer to the call of Pope Francis to get out of ourselves, and to go out to the peripheries to seek and help the poor, the lost and the abandoned.
Hopefully they become worthy of being part of the world-wide Bosconian Family. This will be the big challenge for our Salesian Youth Ministry.
Batch 46 Applicant Trainees from the Mountain Barangay of Tabunan, Cebu City together with Barangay Captain Nerio. Captain Nerio is bringing in 35 poor and deserving youth from his barangay to be trained in SMAW NCII under Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban’s Mobile Training Program. We welcome them and hope they will persevere till the end of the training and be part of the World-wide Bosconian Family.
This is under the scholarship program of Cebu City for Mountain Barangay Youth through the Office of Councilor Donaldo Hontiveros.
