Fr. Brian Butanas and some Staff attended and participated in another JCI Metro Cebu Uptown and Kabilin organized Bamboo Enterprise and Livelihood Program held at the Asturias Municipal Gym last May 9, 2021.
This is one of the green tvet initiatives of Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban. With the experience gained from all the seminars on Bamboo, DB TVET Center Balamban hopes to offer Bamboo Production NCII to its students.
At the moment, Batch 45 and 46 took turns to prepare bamboo propagules in nearby bamboo nurseries of the Double Ring Farm and D Family Farm.
Early this morning, Fr. Brian and some staff participated in the Mangrove Planting Activity of our Partners JCI Metro Cebu Uptown, Cebu and Zugbuana held at San Roque Springs, San Roque Asturias Cebu. The group planted the locally called “Bakauan Lalaki” whose scientific name is “Rhizophora Apiculata Blume” of the “Rhizophoraceae” family of mangroves.
The Mangroves seems to be the only species of trees in the world that can tolerate salt water. They are also the habitat of thousands of fish species from 1 inch gobies to 10 foot sharks. They also serve as a natural buffer against STORM SURGE.
Fr. Brian Butanas SDB together with Fr. Lan Guiao SDB, Mr. Frank Amante (Instructor) Mr. Dominic Magdato (Volunteer) and Dr. Eugene Ynclino IV (Consultant) started their first day of training of the Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Program of the Pambansang Treyner Konstruksyon (PTK). Those who have taken the TM I of TESDA are credited as RPL for the In-Company Training Program (ICTP. The graduates of this course will become part of the PCA-certified pool of trainers who are industry practitioners, training consultants and field experts in construction.

The International Elevators and Equipment (IEE) Inc. conducted a “Pre Employment Examinations” to our Batch 46 students. After the Examinations the IEE presented and introduced the students to the topic of “Adaptation to the new normal.”
THE IEE has been a partner of Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban for Employment for the past 4 years.
Batch 46 were interviewed at the Double Ring Farm in Balamban today. We are hoping that most of them can finish their program and pass the SMAW NCII Assessment towards the end of their training.
Early this morning, Fr. Brian Butanas together with Mr. Dominic Magdato received with gratitude the safe arrival of the ANCOP Mobile Training Van (MTV) from Mr. Jeffrey Aribal of JCI Metro Cebu Uptown. We thank again our partner in TVET Training JCI Metro Cebu Uptown for facilitating the safe transfer of the Ancop MTV from Iligan City to Cebu City Pier Uno.
This is the 2nd ANCOP Mobile Training Van being turned-over to Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban by CFC ANCOP Global Foundation Inc. The Couples for Christ has partnered with Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban in reaching out to the poor youth in the peripheries in answer to Pope Francis’ call to get out of our ourselves to love the poor, the lost and the abandoned.
This partnership has been made possible through initial arrangements between Don Bosco One TVET Philippines and CFC ANCOP Global Foundation Inc.
The ANCOP Mobile Training Van is equipped with Shield Metal Arc Welding NCII (SMAW NCII), Electrical Installation and Maintenance NCII (EIM NCII) and Plumbing NCII. This ANCOP Mobile Training Van was donated by the Couples of Christ – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
