The Indonesia – Philippines Don Bosco Technical Education Professional Exchange Activity is happening now until November 18, 2023. This welding program aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and skills between Indonesian trainees and Filipino experts. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Fr. Brian Butanas, SDB, Technical Director and Mr. Ernie Estoche, Technical Instructor from Don Bosco Technical Vocational Education and Training Center – Balamban, Inc.

Snappy Salute
Don Bosco TVET Balamban alumni Geram Y. Maranga, PA (Batch 45) and Robert Q. Dumagan, PA (Batch 47) graduated today in their Candidate Soldier Course. Their 4-month training was conducted at Visayas Army Training Group, TRADOC, PA, Camp Chatto, Brgy. Macaas, Tubigon, Bohol.
Both now have the initial rank of Private, detailed with the Philippine Army Engineers. They will undertake the Engineer Combat Support Operation Orientation Training (ECSOOT), a six-week specialty training designed for newly recruited soldiers who had recently finished their basic military training to familiarize with the Philippine Army’s Combat Engineer Operations Doctrine.
Pvt. Maranga is also a recipient of the Chief of Staff, Training and Doctrine Command Award for Physical Proficiency, obtaining the highest rating in the physical fitness test.

Patient Transport
Fr. Brian a priest of many hats is giving additional skills to our trainees in Patient Transport. A proper patient transport system is critical for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients during transport. Without a proper system in place, patients may be at risk of adverse events, safety hazards, and delays in care.
Here they are role playing in patient transport to a nearby hospital of victims involved in a motorcycle accident
Institutional Projects
Batch 51 is dedicated to improving campus conditions by installing air conditioning systems for the laboratories, upgrading plumbing and the required emergency exit ladder. These initiatives aim to create a more pleasant and conducive and safe learning and working environment for students and staff.
EIM at SLSDB
Sir Anthony and Sir Dominic travelled to Saint Louis School Don Bosco Dumaguete to teach Ms. Cyrelle, a TLE instructress modules in Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
Batch 51 is currently undergoing the Electrical Installation and Maintenance NCII training, sponsored by the Sugbu Kahanas Scholarship program under the guidance of Board Member Atty Jiembo Borgonia. They have just completed their first week of training, which included an Introduction to Technical Drawing.
To support their learning, the facilities used were generously donated by the BDO Foundation.
Pipe Fitter Trade Testing
Don Bosco TVET Center – Balamban provides opportunities for skilled workers to be tested according to employer standards local and abroadโฆ aside from Welders, Platers and Fabricators, Pipe Fitterโs test is now included.
Harvest Time
The Laudato Si Garden, carefully tended to by Father Tass and a team of trainees, abundantly supplies the dining tables of 60 students at Don Bosco TVET Center Balamban. Its existence is deeply rooted in the center’s sustainability plan, serving as a living example of environmentally-friendly practices and fostering a profound appreciation for nature and ecological responsibility among the students.
